We Believe

WCC has held to the following tenets for generations.

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, Word of God, and the sole basis for our faith and practice. (II Peter 1:21, Rom. 15:4, I Cor. 2:12-13, II Tim. 3:16-17)
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt.28:19, Heb. 1:1-3, II Cor. 13:14)
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin conception and birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, His atoning death through His shed blood, and His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1, Luke 24:49-53, John 14:1-3, Titus 2:11-14)
  •  We believe that regeneration, being born again, by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man. We believe that this new birth is brought about by the grace of God through faith, and that there is not other way of obtaining eternal life. (Eph. 2:8-10, Acts 26:30-31, I John 5:11-12)
  •  We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (John 16:7-11, Romans 8:9-10)
  •  We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (I Cor. 15:51-53, I Thes. 4:13-18, Rev. 20:11-15)
  •  We believe in the Church, the congregation of the redeemed from the day of Pentecost to the rapture, as God’s appointed means for accomplishing His work in this dispensation (I Cor. 12:12-14)
  •  We believe in the spiritual unity of all born again believers in Christ. (John 17:21-23)
